Christie
Querna
In Christie’s own words:
“I am delighted to join the Friends of Seven
Board of Directors as the representative of
the Spokane Public Schools Board of
Directors. The Friends play a pivotal role
in the ability of KSPS to provide the type
of quality programming that can, and often
does, enhance the educational life of our
community. As we recognize the importance of
the early childhood exposures to learning,
the offerings of such programs as Sesame
Street and Big Big World may help
facilitate those first steps to reading.
Families can together enjoy the likes of
Nature and Nova, we can hear
about the wonderful things happening in our
schools with such programs as Powerful
Teaching - Powerful Learning and the
universal appeal of Masterpiece Theatre
and Bill Moyers Journal can keep us
all involved. KSPS is a wonderful example of
the palette that we can have in our own home
to provide the lifetime learning that we all
desire. I am delighted to be a part of the
Friends board which works to bring more and
better offerings to all our communities.”
Christie is currently
President of the Board of Directors for
Spokane Public Schools. She is a graduate of
the University of Washington and a former
teacher, public relations writer and
freelance author of children’s books.
Christie and her husband’s three children
are all graduates of Spokane Public Schools.
We are so pleased to have Christie join our
Friends Board. The Querna family has been
supporting the station since 1982.
