Unless you’re living under the proverbial rock, you've probably heard about the FIRST Robotics Competition held at EWU this spring.
You can actually experience the “robot rumble” by tuning in to Northwest Profiles this month on KSPS. Tune-in on 06/02/12 at 10:31pm pt, 06/03/12 at 9:30pm pt and 06/17/12 at, 4:30pm pt.
True to form, this month's NW Profiles will also highlight several other great Pacific NW stories including the Continental Divide Trail that stretches over 3100 miles through five western states. The Montana Wilderness Association has taken over as caretaker for the longest mountain trail in Montana and a number of volunteers in the state are working hard to complete the Montana portion of the trail.
Also on this show you can partake of a visit to Canada’s Ellis Bird Farm located in the heart of central Alberta. Although they’re only open during summers, visitors enjoy beautiful gardens, the world’s largest outdoor collection of bluebird nestboxes, butterfly gardens, orchards, native wildflower gardens and hummingbird gardens. They are all linked via a network of walking trails.
You can take a virtual tour on their website and check out the menu from the new Tea House operators Megean Dillabough and Chef Michael Ubbing.
Last but not least as they say, is an interview with local entrepreneur Dick Brown, founder of Brown’s Building Supply. Brown is said to be Spokane’s original recycler because he built a family business by seeing the value in things others didn’t want!
You can also visit NW Profiles online and watch any time your little heart desires!
