I have been a card-carrying, devoted DIY watcher and doer for many years now. I crochet, sew, collage, shop vintage (both clothes and furniture), paint, garden and will tackle many a DIY project if it doesn't involve saw blades or cement — although I have been known to attempt a concrete pathway and the idea of smoothing concrete is very, very appealing to me.
I'm a big fan of Create TV. There is so much available on this channel from cooking to arts & crafts to gardening and home improvement, not to mention a number of award-winning travel programs. I watch Create TV all the time but I didn't realize that on Saturdays you can watch a full day of how-to programs focusing on a single theme.
This Saturday, July 2, an All American Barbecue is the theme for the day, just in time for the Fourth of July!
The host for the day is Steven Raichlen, hailed by none other than Oprah herself as the "Gladiator of Grilling." Aptly named a "barbecue tour from sea to shining sea," the day starts in Chicago and the Midwest and travels to all the cookout hotspots across the country and all the way down through Southern California. Raichlen is not only a griller extraordinaire and TV host but also an author of several books on the subject!
On Saturday, July 9, Create travel pros will take viewers on a site seeing trip around the world by boat. Travel hosts including Rudy Maxa and Rick Steves will be on deck for amazing adventures. Rudy Maxa, aka "The Savvy Traveler" is one of America's premier travel experts. Rick Steves is, of course, the host of PBS' "Rick Steves' Europe" and author of various location-specific travel guides.
Check out the KSPS Create TV website for the entire schedule of Saturday programming.
