It’s Hallooween week this week since the 31st falls on Monday next week.
Consequently this week’s schedule is packed with the best and scariest programs for the peanut gallery and up into the tweens and teens category during the day on KSPS.
I haven’t chosen my costume yet for this year but I’m leaning toward Whoopie Goldberg or maybe Glenda the Good Witch. Or maybe I’ll take the easy way out and revisit my homemade conehead past! Oh well it’s always great fun … unless of course, you have to explain who you’re trying to emulate.
On Thursday this week there’s the Fernkenstein’s Monster, inspired by the “Frankenstein” book – that is if you’re up at 7 a.m. Later in the day for the teens or tweens there’s Wild Kratts where a little bat ends up in a plate of brownies and the entire crew goes “batty” as they learn to love the nocturnal little creatures.
Friday’s WordWorld at 2:30p.m. and WordGirl at 3 p.m. both include Halloween themes.
On Sunday early morning (starting at 7:30 a.m. which is definitely early for me on Sunday morning) there’s Clifford’s “Scary Puppy/Things That Go Bump,” Sid the Science Kid’s “Halloween Spooky Science Special” and Cat in the Hat Knows A lot About That! with “Aye Aye/Trick or Treat.”
You just can’t beat the Cat in the Hat taking Sally and Nick trick or treating, right? And they don’t just stay in the ‘hood … they head around the world and meet three new friends who each teach them tricks and share the treats they like to eat!
On Monday, Halloween day the specials start at 6:30 a.m. with Clifford’s Puppy Days and go throughout the day ending with “Ruffman Manor is Haunted” at 4 p.m.
By then it’s nearly time to take to the streets for the annual collection of the candy!
