Nature takes a timely look at the salmon crisis in the Pacific Northwest. “Salmon: Running the Gauntlet” airs on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 7 p.m. (PT) on KSPS-TV.
The future for Pacific Northwest salmon is unclear. This program explores the drastic decline in salmon numbers and discovers that the decline may be a consequence of our efforts to save them. The film reveals one of the most ambitious and complex plans ever conceived for saving the endangered salmon fisheries. Jim Norton, the filmmaker, will be in Spokane on Wednesday, May 4th for a special showing of “Salmon: Running the Gauntlet.” It will be shown in conjunction with a reading by journalist and writer Steven Hawley, who recently published a book on the Northwest salmon crisis. The event will take place at the Caterina Winery, 905 N. Washington at 7:00 PM. For more information on the screening contact Sam Mace at (509) 747-2030 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
