There are several programs I like to catch every week on Saturdays on KSPS.
One of my favorites is As Time Goes By – the award-winning sitcom set in Britain with Lionel (Geoffrey Palmer) and Jean (Dame Judi Dench). The show follows the relationship of the pair, former lovers who meet unexpectedly after not being in contact for some 38 years. Although they’re reruns – the show aired from 1992-2005 - I still enjoy watching the show. British comedy is so not American.
On Saturday mornings you can catch This Old House where viewers follow remodeling projects of specific houses over a number of weeks. Ask This Old House where the familiar faces from This Old House take on smaller projects and answer specific questions from viewers. The two shows air at starting at 9:30a.m. on Saturdays.
On Saturday evenings I like to catch Ebert Presents at the Movies on most of the time at 10:30p.m and then at 11p.m. if you’re not out for the night, there’s Austin City Limits which has some incredible music acts almost every week. Following is a list of next week and next month’s Austin City Limits offerings. As you can see, they appeal to a wide range of music listeners.
8/27 Austin City Limits hosts Cheap Trick
9/3 Roy Orbison
910 The National and Band of Horses
9/17 Sonic Youth and The Black Keys
9/24 Lyle Lovett and Bob Schneider
10/1 Mumford and Sons and Flogging Molly
