Central Washington Translator Update

Last Updated by Doug Minor on

Due to wildfire activity in Central Washington, certain KSPS translators have been off the air.

Tuesday 9/8 update: The translator installation for the Brewster / Pateros areas, located on Goat Mtn., was burned to the ground. The translator association has insurance and the site will be rebuilt, likely with assistance from KSPS and other parties. It is too early to even guess at a timeframe for returning the site to full operation; but we will keep viewers informed right here as information becomes available.

Power was to have been restored to Omak Mountain on Friday. Besides Omak, this site serves the ‘downstream’ communities of Tonasket, Riverside, Malott, Chelan and Bridgeport. We have not been able to confirm yet if the site is operational and the area is still closed to access by our engineering staff. We will post updates when we have more information.
