In The Form of A Question...

Posted by Dawn Bayman on

Growing up, there were two appointment viewing times in our house – local/network newscasts…and Jeopardy. My favorite category was potpourri…the catchall for all of the questions that were never picked in the game.

So…this blog is the potpourri of KSPS events, programs and happenings...please feel free to hum the Final Jeopardy music as you read-along –

Fun stuff first – December = Downton Abbey! Starting on December 7th, and continuing every Sunday in December, we’ll replay Season 4 of Downton Abbey to get you ready for the premiere of Downton Abbey Season 5 on January 5th

Rick Steves is coming back to Spokane - On November 22nd, Rick Steves will spend the day here in the Lilac City, with a lecture planned for Saturday afternoon, then he’ll join us for an evening of live pledge featuring his new travel special on the Middle East as well as several of his favorite episodes from the brand-new season of Rick Steves Europe. Look for more information on tickets for the lecture here.

Special thanks to Calgary Board member Bob Morrison, who testified at the CRTC (Canadian Radio-Television Telecommunications Commission) hearings on proposed changes in television offerings in Canada.  Those changes could impact your ability to continue receive KSPS.  Bob and his wife Denise, submitted testimony that highlighted the number of programs produced by KSPS and PBS that contain Canadian content to show the value of the service we provide. We’ll keep you posted on the outcome.

Finally, we’d like to welcome our new Board President , Pati Dahmen and our two newest members of the Friends of KSPS Board – Ann Hurst of Providence Health Care and Don Anderson of Washington Trust Bank. Both started on the Board in September and we look forward to working with them.

I think’s that’s about enough…after all, a Jeopardy category only has five answersJ. See you in the New Year!
