Aquifer Workshops

Hey Kids!

Enter the "Keep Our Drinking Water Clean" poster contest

Deadline to enter is Friday, April 26, 2013

Support from the Spokane Aquifer Joint Board provides KSPS with the resources to educate our community and our classrooms on ways to preserve the aquifer.  The popular workshops, presented by Kristen Zimmer, teach young students about our most precious regional resource: the Spokane Valley – Rathdrum Prairie aquifer.  Children are presented with hands-on, inquiry based lessons about how to keep the aquifer clean and sustainable.

  • Workshops and materials

Free in-class Aquifer Workshops throughout the school year for area students in grades 3-7. Workshops are designed to raise awareness about the Aquifer and the importance of protecting our drinking water.

Students enjoy an hour of hands-on science activities and receive a literacy packet containing materials about the aquifer, including an Aquifer-in-a-cup to take home.

Please contact Kristen Zimmer for more information or to schedule a workshop in your classroom.
