Nova "First Flower"
Tues. 5/6 @ 7pm/8mtn
Charles Darwin
dubbed the flower, of which there exist
between 220,000 and 400,000 different
types, "an abominable mystery" because
of the difficulties in determining its
origins. Here, the search for the
flower's roots leads to a remote area in
China.

Wild! "The
Ice Age Horse"
Tues. 5/6 @ 8pm/9mtn
The Icelandic horse has lived in isolation,
close to the Arctic Circle, for a thousand
years.
Its roots can be traced to before the time
when the Vikings first took them to Iceland.
Its ancestors already roamed the tundra,
amongst the melting ice after the first Ice
Age and their images were drawn on cave
walls by the early humans of Europe. Today
the Icelandic horse has emerged from Nordic
mythology and has become an integral part of
the country's culture and society.
