Northwest Opera’s 4th season opens with “Orpheus in the Underworld,

Northwest Opera’s 4th season opens with “Orpheus in the Underworld,” sung in English. Act 1 is a condensed version of the Offenbach score and Act 2 is a modern parody featuring songs familiar to all ages. The comedy runs May 24 at 7:30 pm, May 25 at 2 pm, May 30 at 7:30 pm and May 31 at 2:00 pm. Performances are at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2715 S. Ray St. Spokane, 99223.  Northwest Opera was organized by Tim Campbell, a Spokane music educator. The group is comprised of “has-beens, wannabes and those who don’t stand a chance…” who rarely have the opportunity to perform after years of training.
