Spokane Heart & Stroke Walk and 5K Run

Spokane Heart & Stroke Walk and 5K Run. Heart and stroke survivors, community teams, and company teams come together for heart-healthy walk and run in support of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. This fun event is open to all ages and features activities for the whole family. The 5K walk is non-competitive and the 5K run is chipped and timed. Proceeds help prevent, treat and defeat heart disease and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 4 killers of Americans. Save this date for a benefit performance of Les Miserable . The September 19th performance, at the Civic Theater, is being held as a fundraiser for Off Broadway Family Outreach. Off Broadway Family Outreach is a non-profit street ministry located in the West Central Area of Spokane. For the past 12 years the volunteers have been reaching out to feed the hungry for hope. Humanities Washington's Bedroom Stories fundraiser is back for a second year. Be prepared for an illuminating night of food, wine and words as celebrated Northwest authors unveil original short works inspired by the event's theme, Pillow Talk.
