This year marks 25 years since the first reported
cases of a then-nameless, fatal disease that had claimed
the lives of a handful of gay men in the United States.
Since that time, over 25 million people around the world
have died from what is now known as AIDS – Acquired
Immunodeficiency Syndrome. Over one million people in
the U.S. alone are living with HIV — the virus that
causes AIDS — and over 50 million are infected
worldwide.
Join host Steve Becker, as we talk to
medical professional about what is being done in this
region to fight one of the deadliest epidemics in human
history.
