The Fight against
Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is one of the most common diseases among
women; but little is known about what actually causes it. In
Health Matters, TELEVISION FOR LIFE: The Fight Against
Breast Cancer, we examine a disease that claims 200,000 new
victims each year; yet early diagnosis offers an 80 percent
chance that it will respond well to treatment.
"For men who are husbands, fathers and sons, breast
cancer is an issue that is just as important to us as it is
to our wives, daughters and mothers," says host and producer Steve Becker. "The
best news of all is that we are in a region that offers many
options for detection and treatment of breast cancer. In
this edition of Health Matters,
TELEVISION FOR LIFE, we’ll
try to connect people to these resources."
A panel of experts take viewer calls and answer questions
about breast cancer.
