Country Care

Access to health care is something people in urban communities take for granted; but what about those living in a rural setting? Can they get the same quality of care? "The amazing thing is that, in this region, the answer is 'yes'" said Health Matters, Television for Life host and producer Steve Becker about the upcoming installment entitled Country Care. "In many rural and remote communities, an air ambulance service is the front door to the emergency room," Becker added. "In others, a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week video link ensures that hospitals in rural communities have 'round-the-clock contact with a pharmacist. Necessity has truly been the mother of invention throughout the Inland Northwest.

On Health Matters, Television for Life: Country Care we explore the range of challenges and opportunities facing small towns and find out more about how technology and innovation have played a stabilizing role in communities across Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.

Health Matters: Television for Life is made possible in part by a partnership with the following community institution. KSPS welcomes their support.
