Diabetes Update

It is one of the most persistent and debilitating diseases faced by North Americans today. Left untreated, diabetes can lead to disability, blindness and even death. And in the complex web of healthcare conditions and treatments, it is also a complicating factor in many other health challenges.

"We just finished a Health Matters, TELEVISION FOR LIFE segment called Active, Not Injured, a program focused on successful approaches to wellness," says Health Matters producer/host Steve Becker. "I was amazed that so many of the viewer calls we received related to diabetes and complications from the disease. People were concerned that any steps they took to be healthy could complicate their condition."

This segment of Health Matters, TELEVISION FOR LIFE is a testament to concern about the disease. "When we first covered diabetes on our show last year, it was clear by the calls that there are lots of questions about living with diabetes. I hope we can empower more people with information during this show and share with them the hope that comes with taking an active role in your health." Becker said.

Health Matters: Television for Life is made possible in part by a partnership with the following community institution. KSPS welcomes their support.
