Living
with MS
The Inland Northwest has the second-highest incidence rate of
Multiple Sclerosis in the world and the highest in the nation.
More than 2,000 people with MS live in the Greater Spokane area.
Chances are, you know someone with MS or have a relative
afflicted with this disease. And it seems the more researchers
discover, the more questions are raised.
KSPS Public Television has been addressing health concerns of
our viewers for over a year with our popular series Health
Matters, Television for Life; and this topic is one of the most
mysterious.
With generous funding from a grant through
TEVA
Neuroscience,
award-winning team Mary DeCesare and Jim Zimmer have completed
an hour-long special documentary that profiles Multiple
Sclerosis and provides a deeper understanding of this crippling
disease. Through the voices of experts and people afflicted with
MS, you will gain a deeper understanding of what it is like to t
live with MS, what medical and research advances have
been made and what clues have been discovered as to why MS is so
prevalent in our area.
Unwanted
Companion, The Mystery of MS tells the personal stories of
everyday people and their families as well as such celebrities
as actress Teri Garr and country singer Clay Walker who struggle
daily with MS.
