Coping with
Parkinson's
As many as one million North
Americans suffer from Parkinson's Disease. While approximately
15% of Parkinson's patient's are diagnosed before the age of 40,
incidence increases with age. The cause is unknown; and although
there is no cure, there are many treatment options such as
medication and surgery to help manage the symptoms.
Treating Parkinson's disease is
not exclusively the doctor's job. There is much that an
individual can do to stay as well as possible for as long as
possible. Regular exercise, joining a support group and
maintaining a healthy diet are some things that help ease the
frustrations that many Parkinson's patients face on a daily
basis.
Steve Becker will talk with
experts and answer your questions 'live' as KSPS examines the
symptoms, causes and treatments available for those dealing with
Parkinson's.
