Fox Theatre
On September 3, 1931 Spokane’s Fox Theater debuted with
the kind of fanfare befitting a place referred to as a movie
palace and once described by the local newspaper as
phantasmagoric. Designed with an Art Deco flair typical of
movie houses from that period, the Fox would go on to serve
Spokane for many years to come as a glamorous gathering
place for both movies and live stage performances. Revisit
some of the magical moments along the way that helped endear
the Fox to the community and eventually save it from the
