The Walters’ Christmas Party

John Walter Museum, Edmonton, AB

You and your little one are invited to a special Christmas Party at the Walter’s! Find out if they really hung stockings and what Christmas gifts were inside.  Create traditional gifts to stuff a stocking.  Take home sugar cookies, a candle, and a small toy.  While your cookies are baking, sing some Christmas carols and listen to a Christmas story. After almost 70 years, it’s still one of the best-loved fantasy films of all time. Christmas Reflections

Fort Edmonton Park is a beautiful Christmas locale, and Christmas Reflections is a great way to celebrate the holidays with family and friends!  View dazzling Christmas displays and twinkling lights from your horse-drawn ride through the Park. Sing carols and enjoy the delightful sounds of live musicians and storytellers. Take a look back in time as you peak into our old-fashioned window displays, and be sure to catch one of our unique magic lantern shows.  Create a special Christmas craft for yourself or a loved one, and check out our Christmas wares and fresh baked goods for sale.  Savour a warming cup of cider or hot chocolate and decorate your own Christmas cookie.  Come and create your own family holiday tradition! We’ll travel through different regions of the world to see how other countries celebrate Christmas. We’ll make paper flowers like they use in Brazil to decorate trees, open a piñata like children do in Mexico and discover where familiar traditions came from. Prepare some traditional Christmas treats to take home. Each child will create a small tin of truffles, cookies, mints, fudge, and other delights.
