Today’s resources will help kids make beautiful circle art; use “play money” to practice how to shop for groceries, pay for food at a restaurant, or buy items at a store; use different strategies to help visualize multiplication; add fractions and decimals on the vertical number line; and explore how math is used in fashion.

In this interactive, use logic to solve riddles involving flea circus high jumps. Numbers are randomized so that you can answer riddles and place fleas on the number line multiple times. The accompanying classroom activity includes a fraction/decimal concept review and a response sheet to support the online work.
Grades 9-12: Math in Fashion
Following a profile of fashion designer and Project Runway winner Chloe Dao, students are prompted to alter garment designs, using their sense of style combined with their math skills to hit target price points. Algebra concepts explored include: linear relationships; rates (percents), ratios, and proportions; using multiple representations; algebraic and numeric expressions, equations, and inequalities.
