About KSPS Public Television

Each day KSPS Public Television invites people in two million households throughout the Inland Northwest and Canada to experience the worlds of science, history and nature; listen to diverse viewpoints and trusted reporting; and take front row seats to world-class performances. 

KSPS serves Spokane and eastern Washington, northern Idaho, western Montana, southeastern British Columbia, and most of Alberta including Calgary and Edmonton. KSPS is also seen across the nation of Canada on the Star Choice satellite system. KSPS is carried over the air, on translator systems, on cable sytems and via satellite. KSPS is licensed to Spokane Public Schools.

Funding for KSPS

What makes KSPS possible? Support from viewers like you who become Friends of KSPS. In fact, about three-quarters of the KSPS budget comes from Friends.

In addition to funding from the Friends of KSPS, station support comes from businesses who underwrite programming; foundations; the US federal government through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting; and the State of Washington. The station's annual budget is about $5 million.
