Passport FAQs

Does PBS Passport cost anything?

KSPS Passport is an added benefit available to donors that make a yearly contribution to KSPS of at least $60 a year (or an ongoing monthly contribution of $5 or more).  It cannot be purchased separately.
Learn more about becoming a KSPS member here.

If I do not have Passport, will I still be able to watch PBS programs for free?

Yes. Free online content access is not going away. Many of our programs are available for free on various digital platforms. And of course, PBS programs will continue to be broadcast to the public, for free, over the air.

How can I activate my Passport account?

If you are an active KSPS member giving at least $60 a year (or $5 monthly), and we have a valid email address on file, you may have already received an email with Passport activation instructions (remember to check your SPAM folders).
You can enter your activation code here.

If you are already a member and need a Passport activation code, or if you are not sure if you are activated, please visit the member lookup page.

I just made a donation, why can’t I activate my Passport account?

If you donated online by clicking an “Activate Passport” button, you should see an activation link on the confirmation page for your gift. You will also receive an email message from KSPS at the email address you entered when making your donation.

If you gave your donation through another online form or over the phone, it may take a few days for your activation code to be assigned. Please email ksps@ksps.org and one of our member services staff will make sure you get your activation code as soon as possible.

Can I view Passport through my Roku or Apple TV.

Yes, Passport can be easily viewed on both Roku and Apple TV.

Is PBS KIDS available in Passport?

While PBS KIDS shows are not available in Passport at this time, kids programming may be included in the service in the future.

What kind of device do I need to access Passport?

Passport enables online video streaming, and is accessible from PBS.org and the KSPS video portal on your computer, smartphone and tablet. It is also available via the PBS Video apps for iOS, Android, Apple TV and other streaming devices. More platforms are coming soon.
Learn how to activate Passport on your device here.

I cannot afford to donate at this time. Is there a way for me to access Passport content?

All broadcast content remains available to all viewers on air per our broadcast schedule and will remain online and on mobile for at least two weeks and, in some cases, longer. We believe the new arrangement allows for ample viewing of excellent content, albeit for a more limited time for some programs.

I’m seeing a message that says I already activated, but I can’t remember how to sign in.

At the time you activated, you were asked to choose one of three sign-in methods: using your Google, Facebook, or PBS account. If you cannot remember which option you chose, you can try each one without doing any harm to your accounts. Each has its own process for resetting passwords should you need to.

I am a member of another PBS station. Am I entitled to KSPS Passport?

KSPS Passport is only available to eligible KSPS members. If you are served by another PBS station, please contact your local station to find out if they offer the Passport benefit.

When I agree to share my information, am I sharing information from all websites I visit?

No. We only ask that you share your viewing history on PBS.org. This is so that we can see what content our viewers like and base future programming decisions upon that. It also provides a way for KSPS to easily communicate with its members.
