Spokane, WA — The Board of Directors of KSPS PBS announced today that Skyler Reep has been appointed President and General Manager of the station following a national search.

Reep has served as Interim General Manager since the retirement of Gary Stokes in August of 2025 and has been with KSPS PBS since 2017, most recently as Director of Development.

“After an extensive search and thoughtful deliberation, the Board is confident that Skyler is the right leader for KSPS PBS at this moment in our history,” said Kristine Meyer, Chair of the Friends of KSPS Board of Directors. “He has already demonstrated steady, principled leadership during a time of challenge. He understands our community, our culture, and the responsibility we carry as a trusted local public media institution. Just as importantly, he brings strategic clarity and national perspective that will position KSPS PBS for long-term resilience.”

Founded in 1967, KSPS PBS serves more than two million households across Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, Western Montana, and parts of Alberta and British Columbia. The station provides four broadcast channels, a growing digital presence, and extensive educational resources for families, teachers, and lifelong learners.

“Public media exists to connect, enrich, and inspire the communities we serve,” Reep said. “At a time when trusted information, early childhood education, and civil dialogue matter more than ever, KSPS PBS remains essential. We are rooted in service to the Inland Northwest and Western Canada, and we are committed to evolving thoughtfully, expanding access, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring that everyone in our region sees themselves reflected in the stories we share.”

Reep brings a blend of private-sector marketing experience and nonprofit leadership to the role. During his tenure overseeing development, dependable annual sustainer revenue doubled, membership grew despite demographic shifts, and innovative national best practices were launched from KSPS PBS and adopted by other stations across the country. He also serves on several national advisory groups, helping shape the future of PBS.

“KSPS PBS is recognized nationally by the industry for exceeding expectations,” Meyer added. “Skyler has helped ensure that our station’s ideas and innovations influence the broader public media system. The Board is excited for the next chapter of leadership under his guidance.”

Reep assumes the role of President and General Manager effective immediately.
