Parenting Minutes Initiative
KSPS is honored to be one of six PBS stations across the nation selected to engage local parents and caregivers around Parenting Minutes, an early learning initiative from partner station The WNET Group aimed at providing simple, research-based strategies that promote social and emotional development in young children.
Parenting Minutes features one-minute digital videos along with key information on topics related to early childhood learning. To serve a diverse audience of parents, caregivers and families, all the videos in Parenting Minutes are available English and Spanish. Many of the videos are also available in Mandarin and Bengali. Associated support materials are available in English and Spanish.
Parenting Minutes is part of The American Graduate: Let's Make it Happen Initiative, a major national effort that promotes collaboration between public media stations and community partners to help keep students on the path to graduation, successful careers and lifelong learning.
On August 4, from 12:30-1:30pm PT, WNET will host a FREEParenting Minutes virtual workshop via Zoom. This will be a great opportunity to dig deeper into the Parenting Minutes topics while meeting other local caregivers. Register here.
