KSPS PBS Presents Watch & Play at Shadle Park Library

KSPS PBS is teaming up with Shadle Park Library to host Watch & Play! This is a series of community literacy events and youth educational challenges that combine popular PBS KIDS shows with hands-on learning activities for local families. This is a recurring event tailored for families with children ages 3-7 and features dedicated PBS screenings accompanied by themed crafts, learning games and educational giveaways hosted by KSPS PBS staff.

Sesame Street and the Great Elephant Adventure

In Sesame Street’s first-ever safari, our friends embark on an unforgettable journey of discovery, taking them from the caring confines of the elephant sanctuary into the unpredictable African bush, where they come face-to-face with some of nature’s most iconic wildlife, including lions, zebras, giraffes, and hippos.

At the event, families will watch the special, take-home branded giveaways, and explore books and activities about animals, ecology and conservation. Be sure to reserve your spot as seating is limited. We can't wait to see you there!

Super Why's Comic Book Adventure

Reading is a superpower! SUPER WHY! helps preschoolers build the early literacy skills they need to become confident readers through stories, favorite characters, and playful problem-solving. Each episode focuses on an important reading skill; helping children explore letters, sounds, words, spelling, and story comprehension. Families can keep the learning going beyond the screen with SUPER WHY! games, activities, and storybooks that give young readers even more opportunities to practice through play.

Families will enjoy SUPER WHY! together and take part in fun, hands-on literacy activities inspired by the program. It’s a playful way for parents and children to explore reading together and discover that every child can have the power to become a reader!

Mystery of the North Pole Penguins?

The Wild Kratts are hanging out with Emperor penguins at the South Pole and wondering why penguins don't live at the North Pole. All of the sudden, Koki gets a report from Wild Kratt Kid, Nua, that there are penguins stranded in the Arctic. The Wild Kratts spring into action to investigate the mystery and get the "lost" penguins back to their natural home.

Families can enjoy the Wild Kratt's episode together and take part in fun, hands-on activities inspired by the creatures and adventures in the program.
